What happens if I let my enhancement plan lapse?

EthoTech's Maintenance program offers our customers the opportunity to keep their software investment up-to-date with the most current features and functionality without the need to repurchase the software with the release of each new version. The maintenance fee is 20% of the list price of the software.

While we encourage our customers to stay enrolled in the maintenance program, there are times that they are not able to do so. To re-enroll in the EthoTech Maintenance program, the rate is 25% for the period of the expired enhancement and 20% going forward. When renewing an expired maintenance, you must renew for at least a 12 month period. If you would like to prorate to match the Microsoft date, you will be charged the normal rate for 12 months plus the number of months to align the dates.

Examples:

  • If your maintenance has been expired for 4 months, you would be charged for 4 months at 25% and 12 months at 20%.
  • If your maintenance has been expired for 36 months, you would be charged for 36 months at 25% and 12 months at 20%.
  • If your maintenance has been expired for 5 months AND your Microsoft date is 6 months away, you would be charged for 5 months at 25% and 18 months at 20%.

Formula: (List Price * Past Due Maintenance Rate * Months Past Due/12) + (List Price * Normal Maintenance Rate * Future Months to Renew/12)
