ISSUE

After upgrading to a new Dynamics GP version, I receive the following error when printing a Commission Plan or Customer Service Collection report:

"Cannot access this report because the dictionary containing it is not loaded.

This error occurs because the report in question has been modified, and the EthoSeries modified reports dictionary is not available in the Dynamics GP client for the new Dynamics GP version.

RESOLUTION

Use the following steps to resolve this issue (these instructions assume that you're familiar with Dynamics GP administration and modified resource usage).

  1. Exit Dynamics GP.

  2. Check the path to the EthoSeries modified reports dictionary (TAS1006R.DIC) in the Dynamics GP launch file (Dynamics.set) for the previous version Dynamics GP client. If the path is a shared location, skip to step 3.

Copy the TAS1006R.DIC file from the location specified in step 1 to the corresponding location for the new version Dynamics GP client. For example, the default location for a modified reports dictionary is \Data, so if you've upgraded from Dynamics GP 2013 to Dynamics GP 2015 using all default locations, copy the TAS1006R.DIC file from C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2013\Data to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2015\Data.

  3. Make a backup of the TAS1006R.DIC file that will be updated.

  4. Set the path to the EthoSeries modified reports dictionary (TAS1006R.DIC) in the Dynamics.set file for the new version Dynamics GP client to match the path for the previous version Dynamics GP client.

If the path for the previous version Dynamics GP client is local to that client, then set the path for the new version Dynamics GP client to the corresponding location for the new client. For example, if you've upgraded from Dynamics GP 2013 to Dynamics GP 2015 using all default locations, and the path for Dynamics GP 2013 was :C:Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Dynamics/GP2013/Data/TAS1006R.DIC, then set the path for Dynamics GP 2015 to :C:Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Dynamics/GP2015/Data/TAS1006R.DIC.

  5. Launch Dynamics GP Utilities for the new Dynamics GP version.

  6. In the Additional Tasks window, select Update modified forms and reports and click Process.

The Locate Launch File window appears.

  7. Select the Dynamics.set file that you use to start Dynamics GP on this client, then click Next.

The Update Modified Forms and Reports window appears.

  8. Select The EthoSeries.

The Product Details window should open. If the window does not open, click Details.

  9. Set the original dictionary to the EthoSeries application dictionary (TAS1006.DIC) from the previous version of Dynamics GP. For example, if you've upgraded from Dynamics GP 2013 to Dynamics GP 2015 using all default locations, set the original dictionary to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2013\TAS1006.DIC.

Click OK to close the Product Details window.

  10. In the Update Modified Forms and Reports window, click Update.

  11. Your EthoSeries modified reports dictionary is upgraded, and two reports, named Update<>.txt and Update<>.log, are generated. Be sure to review the reports, located in the \Data folder, to verify that your modified reports have been upgraded correctly.

<> denotes additional characters following Update, and these characters may vary. Review the most recently created/modified Update reports.

  12. Launch Dynamics GP for the new Dynamics GP version and attempt to print your report.
